14-Team PPR Mock Draft: Wait on QB and TE in Deep Leagues
In a 14-team PPR mock draft, QB and TE are effectively one-and-done positions, which makes waiting on both the stronger play. With more Flex, WR, and RB slots to fill across 14 rosters, positional scarcity hits the skill positions hardest. Seven TEs still came off the board inside the first six rounds of this mock.
14-Team PPR Mock Draft: Wait on QB and TE in Deep Leagues
Today's Mock Draft Monday episode consists of a whopping 14-team, point-per-reception (PPR), 1QB redraft mock draft as we prepare drafters for the Queen's and King's Classic this weekend in Canton. Nate Polvogt and I break down strategy, players to target and avoid, and much more in today's episode.
In a larger format like a 14-team league, I recommend waiting on QB and TE, as they are true one-and-done positions in this draft. It presents a larger advantage here to focus on the several Flex, WR, and RB slots to fill. TEs did fly in this one as they have been all offseason, though, as we saw seven off the board in the first six rounds.
Surprises of the draft included the price tags on George Pickens and Malik Nabers. Later in the draft, the guys discuss the Broncos RB room, the impact of Geno Smith in New York, and whether you should draft a high-end QB in a league of this format.
My team ended up very WR-heavy as he focused on the PPR scoring and the ability to start six WRs.
Nate, however, took a more balanced approach, drafting a healthy variety of WRs and RBs, and still ended up with Drake Maye and Trey McBride.
