Welcome to the sixth part of a thirty-two-part series: Reading the NFL Offseason Tea Leaves. Fantasy football tasseography is deeply rooted in predicting future fantasy fortunes. Some of the team tea cups we'll be looking into may be larger than others. The smallest of cups may have the most alluring blends of offensive weaponry, or be set to bloom after a long steep. This series will aid in your approach to Redraft and Dynasty leagues by bringing you up to date on:

Like tasseography, the arrangement of these three sections will vary as we digest each team's offseasons and see how the offensive pieces settle. Each article will interpret what this NFL team has told us about its future plans based on what it's done since its 2025 season ended. 

Reading the Atlanta Falcons' 2026 Offseason

The Backfield & QB Battle

The Falcons didn't retain RB Tyler Allgeier, instead opting to sign  Brian Robinson Jr. in free agency for a fraction of what the Cardinals paid Allgeier.

To be clear, Brian Robinson won't compete with Bijan Robinson, and make sure you pick the right one on draft day.

Additionally, they brought in Tua Tagovailoa to compete for the starting QB job while Michael Penix recovers from another torn ACL. Tua will play behind the best offensive line of his career.

Draft Day Additions & The WR2 Competition

The Falcons signed WRs Jahan Dotson and Olamide Zacchaeus in free agency and drafted Georgia's Zachariah Branch after letting Darnell Mooney walk in free agency. These three will compete for the WR2 role. Zacchaeus and Branch are a similar archetype, with Zacchaeus having the edge as a blocker and Branch being the better athlete. Branch has the athleticism to produce huge boom weeks, but is likely a better in best ball than redraft this year. In dynasty formats, consider taking Branch in the middle to end of round 2. 

Coaching Changes

Kevin Stefanski migrated from the Browns to the Falcons Head Coaching role. His Offensive Coordinator will be former Browns TE/Pass Game Specialist and Offensive Coordinator Tommy Reese. This is an exciting coaching staff for Kyle Pitts and his fantasy managers. Stefanski has a history of doing "more with less" with the Browns' offensive talent. The Falcons have built a strong offensive unit. This is an offense to get excited about with Stefanski at the helm.

Fantasy Fortunes

Whatever your expectations were for the Falcons offense last year, I wouldn't change them much going into 2026. Expect the offense to churn out a few high-end players, with other players contributing spike weeks.

We'll likely see a QB2-3, Bijan Robinson as an RB1, Drake London as a WR1, a few WR3-4s, and a TE1 in Pitts in 2026. Keep an eye out for who will be the WR2 in this offense. Dotson is a former first-round pick, Zacchaeus is a career glue guy, and Branch is a former 5-star recruit. There is value in the WR2 role in this offense.
