When a player moves on to a new team in the offseason, they are often overlooked or forgotten about entirely by large swaths of the fantasy football community. This is a mistake. A change of scenery or scheme can jumpstart a stagnant career or provide the platform a player needs to reach their potential. There is value to be had targeting these five players in your 2026 drafts, all of which switched rosters from last season.

Undervalued Players on New Teams for 2026

David Montgomery (RB, Houston Texans) |  ADP RB23,  52 Overall

The man known as Knuckles no longer has his Sonic. While this is surely disappointing to Lions fans, Montgomery has a massive opportunity to take over the Joe Mixon role in Houston's offense. He evades tackles well, rarely fumbles and makes more plays in the passing game than most fans realize. He was still effective in 2025 despite the smaller role, finishing in the top-28 RBs for the seventh consecutive season.

Rico Dowdle (RB, Pittsburgh Steelers) | ADP RB32, 85 Overall

The Steelers will be Dowdle's third team in three seasons. In most cases this would constitute a red flag, but Dowdle put up remarkably similar numbers in both Dallas and Carolina the past two years. Let's take a look:

2024 with Dallas: 235 carries, 1,079 yards, two TD; 49 targets, 39 catches, 249 yards, three TD

2025 with Carolina: 236 carries, 1,076 yards, six TD; 50 targets, 39 catches, 297 yards, one TD

Jaylen Warren will provide stiff competition for touches in the Pittsburgh backfield, but Dowdle is up to this task as he outproduced Chuba Hubbard while with the Panthers. His seventh-round price makes for an intriguing post-dead zone selection.

Mike Evans (WR, San Francisco 49ers) | ADP WR27, 56 Overall

The fantasy community's reticence to pick Evans in 2026 baffles me. He rarely gets hurt (2025 was the only season in which he played fewer than 10 games). He's a touchdown machine, averaging 10 TDs per 17 games across his career. Everyone knows about the streak of 11 consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, and Evans is moving to a better offense with less target competition and a QB in Brock Purdy who has averaged 8.6 yards per attempt (YPA) in his career.

Do not be surprised if the future Hall-of-Famer puts up another impressive campaign.

Wan'Dale Robinson (WR, Tennessee Titans) | ADP WR48, 109 Overall

Screaming buy alert! Draft Wan'Dale Robinson everywhere in any format at his current price. 140 targets in back-to-back seasons show that Robinson gets open quickly and consistently. He also proved in 2025 that he isn't just a short-area target, raising his yards per catch to 11 from a paltry 7.5 in 2024.

Why buy into the Tennessee offense at a high price with Carnell Tate when you can get a target monster with impressive speed four rounds later?

Chig Okonkwo (TE, Washington Commanders) | TE20, 148 Overall

Okonkwo projects to be the No. 2 target in an offense headed by impressive young quarterback Jayden Daniels. He earned at least 70 targets in three straight seasons from 2023-25 and didn't miss a single game across four years with the Titans.

He also possesses impressive athleticism at the TE position, something the Commanders were sorely lacking. If you wait on tight end in your drafts, pick the man with the highest floor AND highest ceiling of any late-round option.
