One way for us to get ahead in dynasty leagues and pick up on some value is to “zoom out” and look at where teams are headed in 2026. What teams could see significant changes, directionally, personnel, or otherwise? Today, we’ll dive into the AFC South division and what the future might hold for each team.

Jacksonville Jaguars
2025 Season:
The Jaguars have had a rollercoaster of a season, filled with close wins, disappointing losses, and plenty of injuries to go around. Liam Coen’s first season as an NFL head coach has been a whirlwind, but he has fought through adversity to a 6-4 record, with all four losses coming against respectable opponents. I’m expecting the Jaguars to win many of their remaining games, as they have already faced some of their toughest opponents.
Expiring Contracts/Cap Space:
The Jaguars will need to address some expiring contracts this year, including starting middle linebacker Devin Lloyd, starting cornerback Greg Newsome, and starting running back Travis Etienne. What could potential resigns -or not- mean for fantasy football?
Pay attention to what the Jaguars do on defense. Their defense has been a strength this year, ranking eleventh in points allowed and first against the run. If the Jaguars decide not to re-sign Lloyd and Newsome, it could signal a worse defense and more offensive production in 2026, driven by game scripts. If they do re-sign these players, expect them to run the ball more offensively as they will be in a better position to control games.
Positions To Address:
This will be a common theme in this series, but the Jaguars need to address their offensive line. Trevor Lawrence has been sacked the eighth most out of all quarterbacks this season, totaling 26 sacks taken. The Jaguars are contending for the playoffs despite having one of the worst offensive lines in football; the rest of this roster is very talented. It would be wise for the Jags to invest in the offensive line this offseason and in the draft as well. You can really never have too many. Don’t expect this team to make any big skill-position splashes before the 2026 season.
Dynasty Analysis/Implications:
The hot topics of this team in the offseason will be the receiving and running back rooms. There are already murmurs in the fantasy community about Bhayshul Tuten, an exciting rookie running back with blinding speed, who is taking over Etienne’s starting role. I do not see that happening. Despite the hype, Tuten has out-touched Travis Etienne in exactly zero games this season. He has some good injury-contingent upside, but he is not taking over at RB while Etienne remains on this team.
This offseason, there will undoubtedly be rumors that the Jaguars will not re-sign Etienne. However, we have to remember that the quarterback of this team had some very memorable college success with Etienne as his running mate at Clemson. I do not think Trevor Lawrence wants to know a football career without Travis Etienne, who has been very productive in Jacksonville. So, I believe he will go through some interesting buy windows this offseason as the Tuten hype rises.
With injuries to Brenton Strange, Travis Hunter and Brian Thomas, this team will get a very good look at Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers, and Dyami Brown for the remainder of this season. Keep your eyes out for a growing role among those players. Brian Thomas will be a buy-low candidate, as his value has already dropped, and managers will be feeling the burn of 2025. There’s even a chance that Thomas’ value could drop enough to get him for less than a first round pick, if you get that opportunity don’t think twice. We’ve seen what he can do already in his rookie year, and his value will rise again when he gets healthy.
For Travis Hunter, be a little bit less aggressive in targeting him, but I still believe in his talent and potential. We saw a few flashes of Hunter’s abilities this year, and it will be interesting if he can get back up to speed once he recovers from his injury. If you’re offered Hunter as a throw-in or at a discount, I think it’s worth a shot, for sure.
Houston Texans
2025 Season:
The Texans are off to another rocky start after a poor 2024 season, sitting 6-5 with some disappointing losses and an injury to their franchise quarterback, C.J. Stroud. They may have gotten the momentum boost they needed this past Thursday night, when they upset the Buffalo Bills, led by their ferocious defense and backup quarterback Davis Mills. It still feels like this season could go either way for the Texans. The worst possible outcome would be to miss the playoffs with a good record and end up with a mid-round draft pick next year, instead of a high-value one.
Expiring Contracts/Cap Space:
The Texans have a few important defensive players with contracts that expire this year. Starting defensive linemen Sheldon Rankins and Denico Autry, starting linebacker E.J. Speed, and backup linebacker Christian Harris. All members of the front seven, and key pieces to this team’s identity, I would expect the Texans to re-sign most of these players in the offseason.
Offensively, the Texans will have wide receiver Christian Kirk, running back Nick Chubb, and right guard Ed Ingram up for a new contract. None of these players is a must for the team, but I won’t be surprised if they all stay in Houston. The veteran presence of Chubb and Kirk will be valuable to the young players in those rooms, and it is sometimes just easier to keep an offensive lineman who already knows the team unless you can get a big upgrade at the position.
Positions To Address:
The Texans’ offense ranks middle of the pack across the board, but they have reasons to feel good about this unit. Nico Collins has proven himself as a top receiver in the past and still looks the part. Rookie wide receivers Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel both have contributed impressively this season, and Christian Kirk is a great veteran for them to share a locker room with as they get up to speed with this offense.
Dynasty Analysis/Implications:
The Texans teetered on the cusp of being a competitive team for the past few years, and I think that is still in the picture for them in 2026. They will have most of their own draft picks. However, they might also have an unexpectedly early second-round pick from the Washington Commanders, who have a far worse record than either team expected. Right now, C.J. Stroud feels like a great buy for a rebuilding superflex team.
Indianapolis Colts
2025 Season:
The Colts have been the biggest story in the NFL this season, completely turning around from an 8-9 2024 season to now being 8-2 through ten games. This team made some aggressive moves at the trade deadline, acquiring star cornerback Sauce Gardner, and has its sights set on a Super Bowl this year. This team can already consider its 2025 season a big success, but the offseason will bring difficult decisions.
Expiring Contracts/Cap Space:
The Colts have a handful of expiring contracts to their starters, and it might be difficult to re-sign them all. Linebacker Germaine Pratt, strong safety Nick Cross, edge rusher Kwity Paye, and linebacker Austin Ajiake are all defensive starters eligible for a re-sign this offseason. Pratt, Cross, and Paye are all essential to this team. They will also have to deal with some expiring contracts on offense: budding wide receiver Alec Pierce, right tackle Braden Smith, and quarterback Daniel Jones are all on the final year of their contracts.
Positions To Address:
As their cap and contract situations indicate, there will certainly be positions to address in the offseason. My guess is that they will try to re-sign as many players as possible, then build through the draft. Since they don’t have much cap space to work with, this team could look very different in 2026.
Dynasty Analysis/Implications:
I’m expecting the Colts to hit some turbulence next year, as this season has been a little too good to be true. A combination of difficult contract decisions to make and wear and tear on their stud running back, Jonathan Taylor, after an insane usage season, has me tempering expectations for this Colts team in 2026. Feels like this offseason will be a nice sell opportunity – but don’t give JT away too cheap!
Tennessee Titans
2025 Season:
The remainder of the Tennessee Titans’ 2025 season is merely a formality at this point. Even the lowest of expectations were too high for this team this year, despite them drafting Cam Ward first overall in the NFL draft this year. Ward is still showing some fight in these losses, which is encouraging if they can get the rest of this roster into shape.
Expiring Contracts/Cap Space:
The Titans have room to work some offseason magic this year and are projected to have the second-most cap space in the NFL, with most of their expiring contracts not belonging to integral players. This team should look very different next year. They’ll have a top 5 draft pick and plenty of money to play with.
Positions To Address:
The Titans desperately need to build the Offensive Line up to give Cam Ward a chance to live up to his first overall draft pick. Ward has been sacked more than any other quarterback this year, a whopping 41 times. An offensive line will go a long way towards keeping Ward physically and mentally ready to play ball.
This team also desperately needs to improve their wide receiver room. Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor are okay, but neither stands out as an alpha wide receiver. They will surely address the position either through free agency or the draft this offseason.
Dynasty Analysis/Implications:
The Titans seemingly have nowhere to go but up, so investing in them this offseason should give you some value. Look to see if they address the offensive line and receiver room, and what type of coach they bring in to lead this team. That should give you a great start when investing in Titans for 2026. It’ll be worth it to take a shot on Chimere Dike or Elic Ayomanor, as both have shown flashes this year.
