Friday Vibes: NFL Week 7 Storylines and 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook
by Optimus Staff
Each fantasy football season brings its own version of delicious chaos, but there are a few things we can all cling to as usual. Spooky season is always extra scary for fantasy footballers, with injuries and byes galore. The universal derision for Chris Collinsworth is another unifying force, a rite of each football season. The sun’s gradual fade, losing its fight against the night as days grow ever shorter.
These are the vibes we bring to you this week on our Friday Vibes. Here we are, in the middle of it all, and we need to enjoy it while we can. So with that, here is what we’re looking forward to this weekend across the NFL!

Vibes, oh yeah, uhh, Vibes. Yes, this weekend is full of vibes. The vibe-iest vibes, you see.
I don’t expect fantasy goodness to come out of the black hole that is the Tennessee Titans, but I’m curious about what changes take place now that they’ve fired Brian Callahan. Many of the assistants have stayed on, so not much may change. Last year, Matt Eberflus was fired midyear, and while the Bears’ offense didn’t progress by much, it did improve slightly. I’m curious if the Titans can see a similar type of dead-cat bounce.
Cam Ward showed promise early, and then he has backslid as he clearly loses faith in the protection in front of him and his pass-catchers downfield. Can he recapture the calm of his early season? Will we see different players in different roles? Tony Pollard is a quality RB, but his talents are wasted in Tennessee. Does he get moved, and does the electric Tyjae Spears get more consistent time? It’s not exciting, but it does make me question how that team looks moving forward.

Mike Vadala:
As we approach Week 7, we’re going to get our first true assessment of whether or not Davante Adams has begun to decline. With Puka Nacua out for the LA Rams, Adams will function as the team’s number one wide receiver. If Adams has a big game this week in London, it could be a sign that he is still prime Davante Adams. If not, we’ll be wondering if he is at the edge of the dreaded age cliff. Either way, this is a great time to reflect and rejoice in the unforgettable career Adams gave us all.
The Puka Nacua injury also gives us a chance to see Jordan Whittington in an increased role again. Whittington had some ceiling games last year, filling in for the injured Nacua and Kupp. If we see him in the same increased role with Puka out this week, we could be looking at a rare but valuable “Wide receiver handcuff”. Furthermore, Whittington can bring significant value in Dynasty leagues if Davante Adams ages out, retires, or leaves the LA Rams after this season. Adams will have another year left on his contract after this season, so it will be either another waiting game for Whittington to find his fit on the team, or the Rams will have to get creative to move on from Adams if they see a clear role for Whittington.
Jordan Whittington’s average target separation at 4.6 yards leads ALL WRs.
What’s even crazier is his Open % (3+ yards) is at a league-high 69% among WRs min. 100 routes 👀
Incredible player in open space, turns into an RB.
He’s averaged 6+ YAC/catch in 3 games this season

Carly Manger:
With the trade deadline approaching on November 4th, rumors are flying around like crazy. Will Jaylen Waddle be traded to the Giants? Will Chris Olave be traded somewhere? Are the Chargers going to fill out their RB room? Will Breece Hall be moved before the deadline? Who knows! I am excited to find out.
In fantasy terms, the trade deadline can be pure chaos. A single deal in the NFL can send shockwaves through every fantasy league. When players move, everything shifts. Target shares change, depth charts shuffle, and opportunities open up where they didn’t exist before. Suddenly, a forgotten bench player becomes a must-start, or your dependable flex option turns into a total question mark. Backfields get crowded, target shares shift, and fantasy managers everywhere start frantically checking their lineups. It is the kind of beautiful mess that keeps this game we all love so much fun. Every trade has the potential to create a new breakout star or tank someone’s playoff hopes overnight. Smart managers pay attention to the ripple effects, looking for hidden value before the rest of the league catches on. Whether it is a blockbuster move or a quiet depth trade, every transaction can create fantasy fallout worth tracking.
One thing is for certain: Alvin Kamara isn’t going anywhere.
Alvin Kamara said today that if they trade him he’s going to just go drink “pina coladas” somewhere

Evan Sather:
I really don’t want to have to admit I was wrong about Daniel Jones, now that his career was resurrected by Shane Steichen on the Indianapolis Colts. Was I an idiot last year for trading away Calvin Ridley and a 2025 3rd-round draft pick in exchange for Anthony Richardson? Perhaps I was. It’s not looking like A-Rich will be the future at QB for the Colts.
Jones looks exactly like he was supposed to look as a member of the New York Giants. Currently sitting at QB7 in all regular fantasy football leagues, Jones is playing in an offense that knows how to move the football better. Having Jonathan Taylor as his running back helps open up the passing game with decent wide receivers in Michael Pittman and Josh Downs. The rookie Tyler Warren, out of Penn State, is there to stay as the top pass catcher in the Colts’ offense. Jones’s improved play is a big reason why Warren is sitting at TE2 in PPR leagues through six weeks of the regular season.
Is Daniel Jones really a good quarterback, or is this merely the result of having an easy schedule in the first 6 weeks? Maybe it’s both! Time will tell if Danny Dimes can keep up this level of production after Week 11, which is the Colts’ bye week.
Only two QBs have led the Colts to 5 wins through 6 weeks since 2000
