As the season unfolds, we continue to unpack the hidden mysteries behind the 2024 NFL season.

Are we currently in the middle of a Tight-End Market crash? Why has a sudden rise in injuries this year impacted our fantasy players so severely? How often will the NFL remind us that the author of “The Tortured Poets Society” is in a relationship with the Chiefs’ third receiving option? If I may add, that needs to change as soon as possible… Yes, of course, I’m talking about the third receiving option part, not the Taylor part, so put your pitchforks down “swifties.”

All these compelling NFL Week 4 storylines will be analyzed and dissected in our latest series, “Storyline, Storytime,” which will bring you exclusive insights crafted by @hoovtube on X.

While not every game may offer an enticing opportunity for betting on the outright winner, the Optimus team is devoted to delivering comprehensive betting analysis, ensuring that our audience is well-informed and prepared as they engage with the series.

NFL Week 4 Schedule & Predictions

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Indianapolis Colts

Steelers (-2) Colts (+2)

Although the picks in this series have been getting progressively better by the week, we’re focusing on a few “picks” this week to make our picks and hopefully write a perfect article. The sky was thought to be the limit for an athlete such as Anthony Richardson, but the tape shows that Richardson has struggled with passing the ball effectively this season. That shouldn’t surprise anyone who studied his Florida tape coming into the draft, but the issue continues to show at the next level.

I believe that Richardson can turn it around and be a great NFL player who is skilled in both power and accuracy. Although he doesn’t have to be a perfect passer to be a Superstar quarterback, there still needs to be more improvement. I could see a career trajectory similar to Josh Allen for Richardson, with his gunslinger ability also resulting in turnovers from time and time again. Pittsburgh’s defense is focused on continuing their undefeated season and most likely won’t allow themselves to be victims of a big Richardson day.

Hoov’s Pick: Anthony Richardson Interceptions Thrown O/U: Over 0.5 (-155)

Seattle Seahawks @ Detroit Lions

Seahawks (+3.5) Lions (-3.5)

As someone who hasn’t been shy to hype Geno Smith up this offseason, knowing what Ryan Grubb would bring to the table, it pains me to put Geno on this list in a negative aspect. Plenty of potential candidates this week seemed primed to throw an interception, including Patrick Mahomes and others, yet unfortunately, Geno felt like the best likelihood going up against Detroit’s defense.

Smith has three interceptions to start the season, one in Week 1 vs Denver and two occurring last week vs Miami in Week 3. Although I think this may be the game of the week in a shootout, Will Detroit’s dome get too loud with “Jared Goff” chants that Geno might be off his A-game for a few offensive series? The 3.5-betting line shows how close this game could be, so I would avoid betting on either team outright, but I would take my chances on the hometown team capitalizing on a turnover throughout the air by Seattle.

Hoov’s Pick: Geno Smith Interceptions Thrown O/U: Over 0.5 (-125)

Cleveland Browns @ Las Vegas Raiders

Browns (-2.5) Raiders (+2.5)

Who’s playing “The Long and Winding Road” by The Beatles? Someone better fess up to it because that’s all I can think about right now with how often the conclusion comes to Brock Bowers when placing these bets.

Bowers is one of the most dynamic young talents in the league, currently carrying his position on his back as a rookie. A few seasons ago, it was a crazy idea to think that a rookie could come in and make such an impact in his first season. But after Sam Laporta paved the way in 2023, combined with an unfortunate tight end market collapse in 2024, the road looks clear for Brock Bowers to finish as the TE1.

With Davante Adams and other Raiders stars questionable to play on Sunday, Bowers looks primed to have another week as the center of  Las Vegas’s offense. We could be looking at 15+ or more targets being thrown Bowers’ way, which ultimately makes this feel like the lock of the week if all goes smoothly until kickoff.

Hoov’s Pick: Brock Bowers Receiving Yards O/U: 50+ (-140)
