Although the first few weeks were very hit or miss on some predictions, the odds are getting better by the week. It may not be the payout as I had hoped, but the parlay to have hit that payout had a 67 percent hit rate with correct predictions.
I’m taking this as a sign to shorten the parlays to a smaller amount of legs attached to them, with a fair chance that these players can make it into the endzone this weekend.
With Anthony Richardson going down early into the game last week without throwing an interception, it scrapped my parlays attached to bets such as receptions and total yardage for players. As an avid NFL fan and NFL Redzone subscriber, sometimes it’s hard to enjoy the game and check in on all the stats to see where my bets, like over/under receptions, are.
This week, let’s get the people going! Nothing gets the people going more than Anytime TDs. We know this because NFL Redzone dedicated an entire segment at the end of the show, highlighting all the various touchdowns throughout NFL Sunday.
Plus, with the fantasy landscape taking a hit from the dropoff in productions, who would argue against some of fantasy football’s stars bringing in some touchdowns this week for their managers?
All these compelling NFL Week 5 storylines will be analyzed and dissected in our latest series, Storyline, Storytime, which will bring you exclusive insights crafted by @hoovtube on X.
While not every game may offer an enticing opportunity for betting on the outright winner, the Optimus team is devoted to delivering comprehensive betting analysis, ensuring that our audience is well-informed and prepared as they engage with the series.

NFL Week 5 Schedule & Predictions
New Orleans Saints @ Kansas City Chiefs
Saints (+5.5) | Chiefs (-5.5) |
What could come off as low-hanging fruit in an attempt to raise viewership here at Optimus, I’m happy to clarify that this prediction comes with true intention.
To make it as simple as possible, Travis Kelce hasn’t looked like his normal self this season. We could either continue to speculate the reasoning as to why he has had a dropoff in production or instead, we could realize the opportunity presented for Kelce with Rashee Rice currently sidelined with an injury.
There’s no Hollywood Brown, there’s no Rashee Rice, there’s not even Isaiah Pacheco to lean on if you’re Patrick Mahomes. Maybe the point to go back to basics a few weeks ago was used too early when talking about Zay Flowers. Maybe it’s Mahomes who needs to get back to the basics to get back on the right track.
Hoov’s Pick: Travis Kelce Anytime TD (+115)
Arizona Cardinals @ San Francisco 49ers
Cardinals (+7) | 49ers (-7) |
It always gives me a weird feeling in my stomach betting against my 49ers, but Marvin Harrison, like in most scenarios in his career, is a specialty that should be viewed differently when going against personal interest. His talent will shine through whether I want him to pick apart my team’s secondary or not; he is just that special of a player.
With the Cardinals investing their early first-round pick in Harrison this season, Arizona has probably been counting down the days until they can show their new weapon against the team that’s viewed as the best in the NFC-West when fully healthy. If I wasn’t so locked in on the next prediction below, I would have Harrison’s Anytime TD be the lock of the week.
Unfortunately, that means Harrison doesn’t get the lock of the week, but fortunately for you, there is still one more great prediction below for you to hammer in on DraftKings.
Hoov’s Pick: Marvin Harrison Anytime TD (+145)
Buffalo Bills @ Houston Texans
Bills (-1) | Texans (+1) |
Now, if you asked Josh Allen, he would probably tell you that he’s excited to see an old friend this weekend by going against Stefon Diggs for the first time since his departure from Buffalo.
If you asked anyone who knows how competitors are at heart, they would tell you that both players are looking to ball out to show the other they didn’t need them to be where they are now. Last week, Josh Allen finished as QB28 going up against the Ravens and hasn’t had a rushing touchdown since Week 1.
Nothing is certain in the game of football, but if I had to put a lock on any prediction for Week 5, it would have to be a Josh Allen rushing TD against his former teammate.
Hoov’s Pick: Josh Allen Anytime TD (+135)
More NFL Week 5 Bets
This article analyzed three NFL matchups for Week 5 and identified the most enticing bet. Although we didn’t cover all the matchups, there are still many more bets available on DraftKings Sportsbook that you should consider.
Some of the other various bets I’m considering are:
-
Josh Jacobs Anytime TD (+124) @ Los Angeles Rams
-
Aaron Jones Anytime TD (+125) vs New York Jets
-
Stefon Diggs Anytime TD (+195) vs Buffalo Bills
-
Tee Higgins Anytime TD (+160) vs Baltimore Ravens
-
Michael Pittman Anytime TD (-115) @ Jacksonville Jaguars

The dust hasn’t even settled from Round 1 of the NFL Draft yet, but fear not! We’ve got you covered with winners and losers from Day 1. So, who do we like a bit more, who do we like a bit less, and who are some veterans who came out ahead? Lemme tell you ’bout
One of the oldest tropes in fantasy football is the third-year breakout wide receiver. We’ve been incredibly spoiled through the beginning part of this decade with immediate wide receiver stars like Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase, Malik Nabers, Garrett Wilson, Brandon Aiyuk, and others. We can’t expect every receiver to pay immediate dividends for their real-life NFL
Can you smell it in the air? No, not spring, although that’s nice, too. It’s the 2025 season! The NFL Draft is the real kickoff of the fantasy football prep season, and when so many dormant dynasty leagues come back to life. It’s almost poetic. We understand if you’re just waking up to the NFL,
Get ready to dominate with this fantasy football best ball stacking strategy guide, here to lead you to optimal roster construction, from Kacey Kasem. Best ball = chef’s kiss. You get to draft a team, close your laptop, and (hopefully) win some money. It’s fantasy football without the weekly lineup stress. No start/sit decisions, no
Buy-low, sell-high, you’ve heard it time and again. It could be talking stocks, fantasy football assets, or even your cuts of blue jeans! No matter the context, we need to ensure we’re buying the right assets, and that’s what we’re here to help you do. Now that the dust has had a little time to
Zero RB. (No, don’t leave!) For a decade and change, this fantasy football draft strategy has been incredibly polarizing. It’s made that one guy in your 12-team league into the league pariah. It has separated loved ones from their families in search of their new Zero RB star — sorry, the answer was NOT
Every so often, this game we play reminds us as a fantasy community that not only should we be paying attention to rookie QBs, but we should be actively targeting them. 2024 was one such year, thanks to Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix and Caleb Williams. Can we expect the same output with the 2025 QB class
“What is reasonable to expect from Ashton Jeanty as a rookie?” This is it, isn’t it? This is the driving question as we look forward to the 2025 fantasy football season. Like all good questions, it deserves a nuanced answer. I’m only going to look at two teams as potential landing spots, the Las Vegas
Get in tune with the Zero RB strategy with the guru himself, Kevin Tompkins! While we might be a couple of weeks out from the NFL Draft, it’s never too early to think about some of the RB situations in the NFL from a Zero RB perspective. If you’re drafting right now, you’re able to
I know, I know, I hear it too. "Even for dynasty, drafts before the NFL draft are bonkers," right? You're so super valid with that thought. So why do we do this?
First off, it provides us with feedback. Did you know that dynasty start-up drafts and redraft drafts are remarkably similar? What better way to get a leg up on redraft season than to do a dynasty startup with a bunch of friends? You get to hang out with and start talking some crap to friends, you get to see how other people value specific players, and you get to know who you like a bit more or less than everyone else. This brings us to our second point; it allows us to plan.
Every week, Kacey Kasem will bring you WR2s primed to exceed their slot in the weekly WR fantasy rankings and could help bolster your chances at fantasy football glory. Hello, wide receiver fans! Did you make it into the semi-finals this week? I hope you are one step closer to a championship win if you’re
Every week, Kacey Kasem will bring you WR2s primed to exceed their slot in the weekly WR fantasy rankings and could help bolster your chances at fantasy football glory. Wide receivers can surprise you during the fantasy playoffs, for better or worse. Sometimes, they deliver breakout performances when you need them most; other times, they
Oh em gee. Did you get your “wrap” from that music streaming service with the horrendous user interface? Me neither. I much prefer the native app on my iPhone. In fact, I’m writing this with my “Writing Juice” playlist coursing through noise-cancelling headphones. It’s a mix of my favorite tracks from Led Zeppelin, Deftones and
