WR2s with WR1 Potential This Week
Devaughn Vele, Denver Broncos
Rostered in 5.4% of ESPN Leagues
Rostered in 36% of Sleeper Leagues
With playoffs just around the corner, finding dependable wide receiver options can make all the difference. If your roster looks thin or you are trying to secure depth for the stretch run, these last-minute additions could help your team shine. First up, let’s talk about a familiar name: Devaughn Vele.
Vele, the Denver Broncos wideout, is someone I have highlighted before, proving why he deserves attention. In Week 12’s win over the Las Vegas Raiders, the rookie hauled in six of nine targets for 80 yards, setting a new career high in receiving yards.
Devaughn Vele led the #Broncos in targets in Week 1 and receiving yards in Week 6.

While Courtland Sutton stole the show with two touchdowns, Vele firmly established himself as the No. 2 option for quarterback Bo Nix.
Looking ahead to Week 13, Vele and the Broncos take on the Cleveland Browns in a favorable Monday night matchup. The Browns surrender the fifth-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers, giving the Utah product an ideal opportunity to build on his recent success.
With his increased involvement and availability in most leagues, Vele is an excellent pickup for those needing wide receiver help heading into the playoffs.
David Moore, Carolina Panthers
Rostered in 0.6% of ESPN Leagues
Rostered in 7% of Sleeper Leagues
If you are scouring for a high-upside addition, David Moore of the Carolina Panthers might be worth a look. Though a risky waiver option, he could be a game-changer for your roster.
In Week 12 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Moore dazzled with 10 targets, six catches for 81 yards, and a touchdown. Despite Adam Thielen‘s return, the East Central product outperformed him in usage and production, leading the team in receptions, targets, and yards while seeing 58 of 62 offensive snaps.

Rookie Jalen Coker‘s absence due to a quadriceps injury has opened up additional chances for Moore to shine. The 29-year-old capitalized on extra playing time by hauling in Bryce Young’s only touchdown pass in Week 12.
If Coker remains sidelined—he missed Thursday’s practice—Moore could remain a focal point in Week 13. The Panthers face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who permit the eighth-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers.
Thielen remains a reliable option if you need a steady presence. Still, Moore’s upside in this matchup, especially if Coker sits, makes him a potential difference-maker for your playoff push. Monitor the injury report and consider the receiver as a speculative add with big-play potential.
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Tennessee Titans
Rostered in 18.3% of ESPN Leagues
Rostered in 27% of Sleeper Leagues
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine is a player I have stressed picking up before, and for good reason. He has been a touchdown machine for the Tennessee Titans, finding the end zone in six of his last seven games.
In Week 12 against the Houston Texans, the fifth-year player continued his powerful play with two catches on five targets for 48 yards and a score, contributing to the Tennessee Titans’ 32-27 victory. His ability to consistently produce makes him an ideal addition for anyone gearing up for the fantasy playoffs.

— Hoosier Huddle (@Hoosier_Huddle) November 17, 2024
Over the last six games, Westbrook-Ikhine has seen at least four targets per game and caught two or more passes in each contest. His growing rapport with quarterback Will Levis has been evident, particularly in the red zone, where the 27-year-old has emerged as a trusted target. His steady involvement and knack for scoring give him immense value heading into a critical stretch of the season.
This week, the Titans face the Washington Commanders, who rank 14th in fantasy points given up to wide receivers. While Washington had a brief stretch of limiting touchdowns to the position, they have given up a total of three receiving scores to wideouts over the last three games.
Westbrook-Ikhine’s current status with the team positions him well to exploit this matchup. If he is still available in your league, act fast—his consistent production could be the difference-maker you need.
Rashod Bateman, Baltimore Ravens
Rostered in 25.5% of ESPN Leagues
Rostered in 39% of Sleeper Leagues
Rashod Bateman is another wide receiver who deserves a spot on more fantasy rosters. In the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 12 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, the 25-year-old (happy birthday!) corralled two passes on three targets for 43 yards and a touchdown.
While Bateman is a boom-or-bust option, his boom performances make him worthwhile. The Minnesota alum has recorded a receiving touchdown in four of his last eight games, showcasing his ability to deliver valuable fantasy points when it counts.

— Matthew Betz (@TheFantasyPT) November 26, 2024
Bateman’s speed and playmaking ability add to his upside, especially in promising matchups. Though touchdown-dependent, he has managed six double-digit PPR games this season. His best outing came in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where the wideout posted 22.1 PPR points. With his knack for finding the end zone, Bateman remains a trustworthy streaming option for fantasy managers seeking upside during the playoff push.
In Week 13, he faces the Philadelphia Eagles, who have been inconsistent against wide receivers this season. While the Eagles’ defense can shut down opposing wideouts at times, they have also allowed big games, making this an exceptional opportunity for Bateman to shine.
Keep in mind that the Ravens have a bye in Week 14, so plan your roster moves accordingly. Bateman is worth a look if you need a potential game-changer at receiver this week.

Punctuality and punctuation get me going. Mrs. McBigTime and I have been in a partnership for so long that we shudder to imagine online dating. Not to yuck anyone’s yum, but even imagining what sort of cringy MySpace malarky I’d have on my profile makes me nauseous. “I’ll cook you dinner if you cook me […]
Look, in this economy, we’re all looking for bargains. Fantasy football is no different, as we’re looking to extract as much value as we can without paying a lot or anything. We know the feeling of looking through free agency or waivers on Sunday and going, “Why didn’t I start THAT guy?” after somebody produces […]
The oatmeal chocolate chip cookies I baked a few weeks ago have been enshrined into the permanent rotation. Cooking and baking are like art and science, left brain and right. The former is boundless, untethered from the rules and formalities in baking. What happens if you add too much or too little of one thing […]

Sometimes, when I tell someone about my family dynamic, it strikes them as peculiar. “Are you and your wife going to have any more kids?” Absolutely not. One sixth grader is enough, and we have a mountain of cats—five of them. Add in our frenetic border collie, Rosie, and the house is full. My parents […]

The holiday season is underway. I say this with confidence because November’s arrival ushers in auto-rejections to any time-off requests as a retail employee. It’s a timeless tradition where work-life balance is shelved for bending to consumerism’s staggering demands. Every year, I promise myself it will be my last in the suffocating, anxiety-riddled suck. It […]
