Halloween is officially here, and many of us are preparing for the year’s spookiest night. From costume parties to trick-or-treating, it is a time filled with ghouls and goblins.
Your fantasy football roster does not have to be haunted by poor wide receiver choices. With careful analysis and some strategy, you can turn your WR2 situation from frightful to delightful.
In the world of fantasy football, matchups and injuries can create uncertainty.
This week, we will focus on under-the-radar wide receivers who have the potential to outperform expectations. Whether it is a rookie on the rise, a veteran rediscovering his form, or a player benefiting from a favorable matchup, some options can help you win.
We will examine players whose performances may have gone unnoticed but whose opportunities should increase in favorable conditions. With key injuries and changing team dynamics, some WR2s are positioned to make a significant impact.
The goal is to help you navigate the spooky landscape of fantasy football and identify those hidden gems that could elevate your team to victory. With the right WR2s, you can scare away the competition and position yourself for success in Week 9.
WR2s with WR1 Potential This Week
Jalen Coker, Carolina Panthers
Rostered in 6% of Sleeper Leagues
Jalen Coker should be on your radar this week, especially after scoring his first career touchdown in the Carolina Panthers’ 28-14 loss to the Denver Broncos.
Coker put up an impressive stat line, catching 12 of 14 targets for 186 yards and a score. With Diontae Johnson now traded to the Baltimore Ravens, the rookie is poised to see a more significant role and more consistent targets in the offense.
Jalen Coker first career touchdown, congratulations @jalencoker.

Adam Thielen is expected back soon from his hamstring injury, but in the meantime, Coker is the Panthers’ receiver you want on your roster.
As an undrafted rookie, the Holy Cross product has exceeded expectations and continues to impress. He competes with fellow rookie Xavier Legette, but Coker’s strong performance makes him a standout. The Johnson trade opened the door for him, and he is making the most of it.
Cedric Tillman, Cleveland Browns
Rostered in 64% of Sleeper Leagues
With Amari Cooper now a part of the Buffalo Bills organization, there is a fresh opportunity in the Cleveland Browns’ offense. It is looking like Cedric Tillman is stepping up.
In Sunday’s 29-24 win over the Baltimore Ravens, he posted seven catches on nine targets for 99 yards and scored twice, showing he is ready to make an impact.

With Jameis Winston now at quarterback, the Tennessee alum could be even more involved moving forward.
This week, the matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers is not ideal—they are giving up the third-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers. Tillman’s boosted role and target share make him worth stashing if you have the bench space.
Kalif Raymond, Detroit Lions
Rostered in 4% of Sleeper Leagues
With Jameson Williams serving his final game of suspension, the Detroit Lions’ Kalif Raymond is an option worth considering. Per WXYZ-TV in Detroit, prosecutors are looking at a warrant request for Williams’ arrest on a concealed weapon charge, so keep an eye on his status.
Raymond maximized his limited touches in Week 8, scoring both on a punt return and with a third-quarter touchdown catch.

As the Lions take on the Green Packers this week, the 30-year-old has one last chance to make an impact before Williams reclaims his spot in the lineup.
In Detroit’s blowout win last week, Raymond’s opportunities were limited—quarterback Jared Goff only threw for 85 yards. Other targets like Allen Robinson II and Tim Patrick are also in the mix. Ideally, the wideout is not a go-to start, but he could fill the role if you are desperate for a plug-and-play option.
Parker Washington, Jacksonville Jaguars
Rostered in 15% of Sleeper Leagues
After hauling in three of four balls for 46 yards in Sunday’s close loss to the Green Bay Packers, Parker Washington had his most productive game of the season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ injury situation has given Washington more chances, with Christian Kirk out for the season and Brian Thomas and Gabe Davis‘ statuses still unclear.

The second-year player is set to step in as the team’s No. 3 wideout, and if others continue to miss time, he could see a more prominent role.
This week, he faces the Philadelphia Eagles, a team allowing the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. While he is still a stash option for most, those needing depth at wide receiver may find Washington a useful plug-and-play in Week 9.

Zero RB. (No, don’t leave!) For a decade and change, this fantasy football draft strategy has been incredibly polarizing. It’s made that one guy in your 12-team league into the league pariah. It has separated loved ones from their families in search of their new Zero RB star — sorry, the answer was NOT
Every so often, this game we play reminds us as a fantasy community that not only should we be paying attention to rookie QBs, but we should be actively targeting them. 2024 was one such year, thanks to Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix and Caleb Williams. Can we expect the same output with the 2025 QB class
“What is reasonable to expect from Ashton Jeanty as a rookie?” This is it, isn’t it? This is the driving question as we look forward to the 2025 fantasy football season. Like all good questions, it deserves a nuanced answer. I’m only going to look at two teams as potential landing spots, the Las Vegas
Get in tune with the Zero RB strategy with the guru himself, Kevin Tompkins! While we might be a couple of weeks out from the NFL Draft, it’s never too early to think about some of the RB situations in the NFL from a Zero RB perspective. If you’re drafting right now, you’re able to
I know, I know, I hear it too. "Even for dynasty, drafts before the NFL draft are bonkers," right? You're so super valid with that thought. So why do we do this?
First off, it provides us with feedback. Did you know that dynasty start-up drafts and redraft drafts are remarkably similar? What better way to get a leg up on redraft season than to do a dynasty startup with a bunch of friends? You get to hang out with and start talking some crap to friends, you get to see how other people value specific players, and you get to know who you like a bit more or less than everyone else. This brings us to our second point; it allows us to plan.

Oh em gee. Did you get your “wrap” from that music streaming service with the horrendous user interface? Me neither. I much prefer the native app on my iPhone. In fact, I’m writing this with my “Writing Juice” playlist coursing through noise-cancelling headphones. It’s a mix of my favorite tracks from Led Zeppelin, Deftones and

Punctuality and punctuation get me going. Mrs. McBigTime and I have been in a partnership for so long that we shudder to imagine online dating. Not to yuck anyone’s yum, but even imagining what sort of cringy MySpace malarky I’d have on my profile makes me nauseous. “I’ll cook you dinner if you cook me
Look, in this economy, we’re all looking for bargains. Fantasy football is no different, as we’re looking to extract as much value as we can without paying a lot or anything. We know the feeling of looking through free agency or waivers on Sunday and going, “Why didn’t I start THAT guy?” after somebody produces

The oatmeal chocolate chip cookies I baked a few weeks ago have been enshrined into the permanent rotation. Cooking and baking are like art and science, left brain and right. The former is boundless, untethered from the rules and formalities in baking. What happens if you add too much or too little of one thing
